Meet the Officers
Soujoud Hamade
President
Soujoud C. Hamade is a first-generation Lebanese American attorney, entrepreneur, and community advocate who is going to serve her second term as the President of the Michigan Chapter of the National Arab American Bar Association (“NAABA-MI”). Her and her partner founded HNH Law Group and operate their practice on the top floor of one of the commercial real estate properties that Ms. Hamade recently acquired through her investment company, Hamade Capital Investments. Ms. Hamade began her legal career as an associate member of the Government Policy Practice Group at Dykema Gossett, a leading national law firm. She later accepted a position as the Director of Safety and Compliance at Glorious Cannabis, one of the largest and most sophisticated cultivation facilities in the State of Michigan. During Ms. Hamade’s spare time, she has served on the board of multiple organizations, including The Arc of Northwest Wayne County, the Iraqi American Foundation, and NAABA-MI. Since helping establish NAABA-MI, the nonprofit has grown from four members to over a hundred and fifty members. In under two years, NAABA-MI has hosted multiple successful networking events, launched a mentorship and internship program, facilitated the hire of multiple employment positions, hosted a dozen of panels at law schools across the state of Michigan, and helped the State Attorney General’s Office host an expungement fair and a driver’s license restoration drive. Ms. Hamade earned her Juris Doctor degree and her Bachelor of Philosophy from Michigan State University, where she received many honors and awards for her academic achievements, including the Distinguished Law Student Trailblazer Award, Jurisprudence Achievement Award in Negotiation, Jurisprudence Achievement Award in Advocacy, and the Best Oralist Award. During her three years as a law student, Ms. Hamade was heavily involved in political and government work. She served as a policy fellow for the Gretchen Whitmer Gubernatorial Campaign, a legislative assistant for former State Senator David Knezek, and a congressional intern for Congresswoman Debbie Dingell.
Mais Moran
Vice President
Mais Mandwee Moran is entering her second term as the Vice President of NAABA-MI. Mrs. Moran acquired her Juris Doctor from the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Law. An Iraqi immigrant herself, she worked in immigration law during her law school years, handling employment and family-based petitions and applications. Ms. Moran then transitioned to civil litigation, managing first and third - party claims for two years before transitioning back to immigration law. She is currently an Associate Attorney at Erickson Immigration Group, handling employment-based cases.
In addition to her involvement with NAABA-MI, she is also a member of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, both Oakland and Wayne Division. She sits on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee plus the Technology and Communications Committee.
Raed Mourad
Secretary
Raed Mourad is the Principal Attorney at Mourad Law, PLLC. Voted a Michigan Super Lawyer Rising Star, Raed has extensive experience in the practice areas of criminal and immigration law. He is a passionate advocate and premier litigator providing optimum results for his clients during their most complex and challenging times.
Raed has significant experience as a trial attorney with the Misdemeanor and Felony Defenders, where he litigates on behalf of indigent defendants in the city of Detroit. However, his representation extends far beyond a criminal case. In addition, Raed assists individuals, families, companies, and educational institutions with a broad range of immigration-related services.
Raed’s highest priority is his clients’ livelihood and well-being, which is reflected in his everyday practices. Known across courtrooms, offices, and communities, he will relentlessly fight for you and act as your voice that needs to be heard.
Fadel Nabilsi
Treasurer
Attorney Fadel Nabilsi is a first generation Palestinian-American and an Ann Arbor native. Mr. Nabilsi is also a first generation college graduate, law school graduate, and attorney. He completed his bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan with a double major in International and Comparative Studies and Near East Studies. After graduating he completed a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA at a local non-profit in Ann Arbor serving the under-resourced community in Washtenaw County. He then worked at a pro-bono legal non-profit assisting with immigration, divorce, and civil rights cases. He continued on to law school and received his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law.
During law school, Mr. Nabilsi participated in the Immigration Clinic assisting clients with asylum and naturalization cases. He was also the president of the Middle Eastern Law Student Association for two years and worked as the liaison for the Diversity and Equity Services Office. Mr. Nabilsi took various classes to help build his skills as a future attorney and received certification to be a Civil Facilitative Mediator.
Mr. Nabilsi is currently an associate attorney at HNH Law Group focusing in personal injury and assisting both partners in handling their respective caseloads. He began his legal career at Mindell Law where he worked as a law clerk throughout law school and was hired as an associate upon graduating and being admitted to the State Bar of Michigan. He gained extensive experience in plaintiff personal injury, specializing in auto accidents, premises liability, dog bites, and other general negligence claims.
